DiverHire — hire commercial divers, or find diving work
Frequently Asked Questions
For divers
Is DiverHire free to use?
Yes. Creating a diver account, bidding on jobs, messaging, and using the dive calculators are all free, and DiverHire takes no fee on jobs. Diver Pro ($29/month) is an optional extra: a Pro badge, top placement in the divers list, and priority support. If we ever introduce a fee on jobs, we will say so clearly before it applies.
What certifications do I need?
It depends on the job. Recreational jobs usually require Open Water or Advanced Open Water; commercial work needs commercial certs from agencies like ADCI, IMCA, or DCBC. Each job lists its own requirements.
Do I need to verify my certifications?
It is optional but recommended. Upload a photo or scan of a certification card from your profile; our team reviews it, and approved certifications show a verified badge on your profile and bids. Certifications you have not verified are shown as self-reported.
How do I get paid?
Payment is arranged directly between you and the client. Agree the price, terms, and deposit in writing before you dive. DiverHire does not hold or process payment for jobs.
For clients
How do I post a job?
Sign up as a client, then click Post a Job. The 3-step wizard walks you through project details, location and dates, and budget.
How much does it cost?
Posting jobs is free, and DiverHire takes no cut of the work: you pay the diver directly. Featuring a job at the top of the list is an optional extra ($25 for 30 days). If we ever introduce a fee on jobs, we will say so clearly before it applies.
How are divers vetted?
Divers can upload their certification cards for review by our team; approved certifications show a verified badge, and others are marked self-reported. Profiles also show reviews from past clients. DiverHire does not check insurance or references, so ask the diver for proof of insurance and their certification for the specific work before you hire.
What types of work can I post?
Hull inspections, marine surveys, salvage, photography/videography, underwater welding, boat cleaning, environmental monitoring, search and recovery, and more.
About the platform
Where do you operate?
DiverHire is online-first and global. Job listings can be filtered by city, country, and service type.
How do you handle safety?
Safety is a contract between client, diver, and the diver's training agency. DiverHire surfaces safety information (depth, visibility, hazards) on every job posting and disclaims liability for the actual conduct of the dive.
Will you support international divers?
Yes. We accept registrations from any country. Cross-border employment law is the responsibility of the parties; we recommend consulting local regulations.
I signed up as a diver but I want to hire (or the other way round).
